Bio: Coach Jonathan Cruz graduated from Arlington High School in 2002, where he played football, competed in wrestling, and track. Coach Cruz continued his education at Oklahoma State University, where he played football for Coach Les Miles. Coach Cruz graduated from Northeastern State University with a degree in Sociology.
Coach Cruz
started his coaching career in Arlington, at The Oakridge School. While there,
he helped lead the Owls to the SPC state championship. Ties to the Arlington
community lead him to join the Arlington ISD, where he served in several
capacities at Sam Houston High School under Coach Anthony Criss. Coach Cruz
served as the Interim Head Football Coach, Assistant Head Football Coach,
Co-Offensive Coordinator, Head Boy's Wrestling coach, offensive line and tight
ends coach during his tenure at Sam Houston.
In June of 2022,
Coach Cruz was named the Boy's Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach for
the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles in Fort Worth ISD. Coach Cruz is a member of
the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA), the American Football
Coaches Association (AFCA) and an affiliate of the Fellowship of Christian
Athletes (FCA).
Coach Cruz is married to wife, Sadie,
who is a teacher and coach. They are blessed to have four children Rikki,
Rendon, Ryan, and Raylen.
Coach Cruz is passionate about serving the Diamond Hill community and coaching the Eagles. His motto is Tough. Together. Selfless. Grit. He is excited about the future and will work hard to insure excellence, on and off the field.
