This self-proclaimed hometown hero was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He is a Husband, a brother, and father of a beautiful baby girl Zayleigh (Zay-lee) Brianne Mack. 
Coach Mack is a Paul Quinn College Grad and homecoming prince class of 2016. He received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration and later moved into the corporate sector of banking. While at Paul Quinn, Jamal was very involved as a student leader. He served as Student Government Capellen and Senate Chair, he was a residential assistant, and the founder of a campus wide male incentive called My Brother’s Keeper. This incentive was inspired by President Obama organization that promoted Entrepreneurship, Manhood, and Servant Leadership. 
During his time as president of (MBK) he organized several fundraisers for local elementary schools in south Dallas, hosted weekly reading and tutoring sessions for third graders at local after school programs. He also established a donations hub through the organization that helped current students receive scholarships to further their education. 
Due to his efforts and collaboration within MBK he received the Volunteer Of The Year Award form Boys and Girls Club (Oak Cliff) in 2016. 
Later as an inspiring banker he was recognized as the Star Banker of the Year (2019) and received several Award from Landmark Bank for his philanthropic efforts during that time. After a rewarding career in banking, he discovered that his passion for teaching others to serving those in need as a result he made a hard pivot towards a teaching career. 
As a result, Coach J Mack continues live out his passion by cultivating the beautiful minds of the future as a local high school teacher and Head Assistant Basketball Coach in the greater Fort Worth Independence School District.
